Adding a Note to Civil Rules 4 and 24 concerning indirect ruleamendments made by chapter 10 SLA 2009 (HB 137).

IT IS ORDERED:

1. The following note is added to the end of Civil Rule 4:

Note: Chapter 10 SLA 2009 (HB 137), effective May 16, 2009, enactedchanges relating to an Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity forMilitary Children. According to section 2 of the Act, AS 14.34.010-.090have the effect of changing Civil Rule 4 by entitling the InterstateCommission on Educational Opportunity for Military Children to receiveservice of process of a judicial proceeding in this state that pertainsto the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for MilitaryChildren, and in which the validity of a compact provision or rule is anissue for which a judicial determination has been sought.

2. The following note is added to the end of Civil Rule 24:

Note: Chapter 10 SLA 2009 (HB 137), effective May 16, 2009, enactedchanges relating to an Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity forMilitary Children. According to section 2 of the Act, AS 14.34.010-.090have the effect of changing Civil Rule 24(b) by entitling the InterstateCommission on Educational Opportunity for Military Children to havestanding to intervene in a judicial proceeding in this state that pertains toPage 2the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children,and in which the validity of a compact provision or rule is at issue for which judicial determination has been sought.
